Inner City Tennis is seeking volunteers
We Need Volunteers!
If you love kids, this volunteer opportunity is for you!
ICT is now accepting volunteer applications for its 2010-11 Saturday Program, which offers FREE programming to over 300 kids each week. Join in the fun of this popular, growing program! Email Dilcia if you are interested or would like more info.
Is there training? A volunteer training session will be held on Wednesday, September 15th from 7:30pm-9:00pm. New and current volunteers will be in attendance. You will learn about the ICT teaching philosophy, fundamentals of teaching beginners, and how to work with our equipment. This is a great overview of our program.
What will I do? You will have the opportunity to work with kids ages 3-17, as they learn basic sports skills as well as the fundamentals of tennis.
When is the program?: Saturday afternoons, beginning September 25, 2010 through April 16, 2011 (download the complete schedule).
How long is the time commitment? There are 3 sessions of 90 minutes to choose from: 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm • 3:00 - 4:30 pm • 4:30 - 6:00. You do NOT have to come each Saturday, we are flexible with your schedule.
What are the Volunteer Perks? Weekly tennis drills on Monday mornings (8:30 am – 10:30 am) year round, private half hour lessons with Executive Director Roger Boyer, and free racquet stringings.
